Abstract
It is proved that necessary corrections in the Evans-Viger modified electrodynamics invalidate the arguments given by E. Comay [CPL 261 (1996) 601] against this model. From the conceptual viewpoint the Evans/Comay discussions in several journals have created much confusion.
