Abstract

The Michelson-Morley experiment of 1887 is hailed as a milestone leading to the eventual development of special relativity. This experiment will take on a new historic meaning as it equally disproves the theory of special relativity. The experiment has four aspects that need to be equally predicted and observed from any reference frame; they are: # timing

  1. phase including Doppler shifts
  2. light path geometry
  3. information content

Special relativity confirms the first three but fails on the fourth. As information content is a physical state, special relativity fails as it contradicts the axioms that the theory is based on.
