Abstract

A successful attempt has been made to obtain Maxwell equations for the free electromagnetic field, proceeding from the supposition that it is due to the existence of a specific subatomic particle ? the emon. A concrete emon is shown to have at rest merely the electric property, its magnetic property only appearing, due to the special relativity requirements, when it moves at relativistic rates. The value of the electric property is determined by that of the emon rest mass. A similar idea has also been used to determine Maxwell equations for the case when charged particles are present.
