I was born and have lived most of my life in Rio de Janeiro. As a chemist, I have worked with such far-fetched topics as galvanoplastics and explosives. Most of my activities, however, have been in the pharmaceutical industry, in agreement with my interests and acquired skills in organic chemistry and biochemistry. Themes of my special concern are, besides the origin of life, phytochemistry and the organic chemistry of enzyme-catalised reactions. Non-professional interests include hiking, cooking and traveling.
