There are many popular impressions that show signs of lasting forever despte clear evidence against time. For example, it is widely supposed that the King Arthur literature came from a Christian background, that the dinosaurs were reptiles, that King John of England was a ruthless tyrant, and that one cannot be a good person without religion. These could be called PED's - Probably Everlasting Delusions. Very recently another PED has been recognized: the notion that relativity theory "changes our ways of thinking about space and time."
