Theo Theocharis was born in Cyprus in 1952, and took a degree in Physics at London's Imperial College in 1976. In 1977 he became a dissident in both science and philosophy (as well as conventional politics). In this respect, Theo Theocharis is probably unique in that he became a dissident from the outset while he was still a PG student and thus before he could get any academic job. After his university degree, his entire CV consists of only his dissident publications. The most notable of these (co-authored with M. Psimopoulos) is a 1987 Nature Commentary article entitled "Where Science Has Gone WRONG" (Vol. 329, pp. 595-598, 15 October 1987).
